Key Responsibilities :
- Support sales team in achieving business targets through value selling & customer support
- Develop performance testimonials & reports to increase sale of premium and top products
- Improve technical competency of Caravan staff to ensure higher sales conversion
- Exhibit leadership qualities in techno-commercial projects and deliver results through collaboration with the sales team
- Be a role model for HSSE (health, safety, security and environment)
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 3-5 of years’ customer facing experience with exposure to technical sales or service
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree or a diploma course in Mechanical or related engineering fields.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and handle high pressure situations
- Strong presentation and confident communication skills
- Interest in technical/value selling rather than transactional selling process
- Skilled at software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Key Roles :
Product Knowledge
- Understand features and benefits of Shell products and contrast features of Shell products with those of our competitors to explain Shell’s products effectively.
- Determine the appropriate application of different Shell products for customer situations.
- Know local requirements reg health, safety, security, environmental and disposal guidelines.
Customer Support
Provide Front Line Technical Support to customers in the following ways :
- Recommend the appropriate Shell products and services for customer’s specific application.
- Identify and recommend Shell products and services to replace competitor products.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks related to lubricants
- Conduct joint visits to support sales and help in cross-selling and up-selling activities.
- Conduct plant and equipment audits, lubrication surveys, and create technical proposals.
Staff Support
- Provide front line technical support to sales team.
- Inform on new developments in products and services that will help improve business.
- Collaborate with Shell for timely resolution of technical issues and customer satisfaction.
- Provide feedback to Shell’s technical staff on technical market trends
Training
- Train internal staff on Shell products, applications, and product specifications.
- Coach customers on Shell products, applications, and product specifications.
Services
- Use Shell systems to determine which service is appropriate for customers.
- Promote Shell lubricant services to reduce customer total maintenance cost and provide strong service experience – including oil analysis, condition monitoring and lube management.
SALES ENGINEER – SHELL
Key Tasks :
- Meeting sales targets via value selling & customer support as a part of a team
- Develop performance testimonials & reports to Increase sale of premium products
- Initiate trials by working with technical support to show value based selling.
- Maintain relationship with and increase business generated from regular customers
- Payment collection
- Acquire new customers
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 2-5 of years’ experience in frontline technical sales with manufacturing industries and deep knowledge of the chosen market.
- Any graduate course. Preferably a diploma course or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related engineering fields.
- Proven ability to learn quickly and handle high pressure situations
- Strong presentation and confident communication skills
- Interest in value selling instead of transactional selling process
- Skilled at Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
